The Authority Flower~
FROM Leading to being led
“Very capable people, certain of their own ability, confident of success.
Being so assured, they think that it would be for the benefit of others if they could be persuaded to do things as they themselves do, or as they are certain is right. Even in illness they will direct their attendants. They may be of greater value in emergency.” ~ Dr Edward Bach
In my practice I come across people who are regularly in a vine state. For example: a child who becomes a bully at school, or a mother who can't keep her from yelling at her children, a boss who keeps loosing employees and doesn't understand why, or a couple in distress over conflict. It can be difficult to realize one is in such a state, as it requires great humility and compassion for ones self to gain awareness around our own issues with authority, power and control or lack of control.
The soul quality of Vine involves the theme of authority. Either we deal with it well and become carried away with it, or we deny it and fall victim to power plays with others. In either case the soul is not in alignment with our personality. The mental truth we are ignoring is that every act committed deliberately against another person goes against the “law of unity” and automatically backfires on us. Pressure always generates counter pressure, and there we find ourselves amidst power plays and pushing against authority. In the case of the personality who is carried away by authority, they will find the urges they have to dominate others will always lead to a situation where they themselves become dominated by others.
Inside the feeling self of the vine state is a person who has suppressed a lot of experiences in which they themselves were victims to the overrule of an authority figure. As a result, they maintain an attitude of opposition towards their own higher selves heart, which is compassionate and humane.
Inside the thinking self of the vine state is a person who defines themselves by how well they realize their own claims to power. Their understanding and will power serve only their own interests with complete disregard for the needs of others. In this way they disregard the individuality of other beings and use up their own energy. They often will possess above average leadership qualities, have an ambitious willpower and presence of mind. They know how to find their way out of a crisis situation, always in a leadership role.
What the vine person needs to learn is humility and respect for others. When they have taken the Bach Flower remedy vine, their positive potential will be restored which will allow them to think more with their heart center and interact with fellow human beings in a more cooperative way. From a place of linking back to their higher self, they will be able to differenciate between healthy and unhealthy ambition. They will accept the rights of others and pay attention to their needs. Oftentimes, rather than dictating to others what they think one should do, they are able to instead assist others in helping THEMSELVES to find their own way! In this way, they become the wise understanding leader who has natural authority. They will work only within win/win strategies.
When one finds themselves in a negative vine state they can ask themselves of the situation~
What would i lose by giving in?
What would I gain by giving in?
What would I lose by imposing my will?
Which approach best serves the higher objective?
Key Affirmations to use while shifting from negative to positive Vine state are:
“I SHOW RESPECT”
“I VALUE SUPPORT “
